| In the near future, I will be introducing a resolution declaring June 2016 as Corrections Officers and Employees Month in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania’s corrections officers and employees perform vital services for our Commonwealth residents. They keep us safe by maintaining well-run correctional facilities and they provide the first steps in rehabilitating our state’s prison population, getting prisoners ready for re-entry into the community. They do this even though they face the possibility of harm every day they report to work. This resolution recognizes the valuable contributions of corrections professionals and thanks them for their important service to the Commonwealth.
