MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 14, 2015 12:21 PM
From: Representative Patty Kim
To: All House members
Subject: Resolution honoring the lives and memory of those killed and injured during the shooting in San Bernardino, CA on December 2, 2015

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution honoring the lives and memory of those tragically killed and injured during the mass shooting in San Bernardino County, California on December 2, 2015, and extending condolences to their families and concern for those injured and expressing gratitude to all emergency workers, first responders and volunteers for their efforts.
Ten of the fourteen people who were shot and killed were public employees of San Bernardino County and members of Local 721 of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The other individuals killed were also San Bernardino County employees or private citizens working or visiting in the building that day.
Every day public and private employees and union and non-union employees assume some risk as they undertake their respective duties. Also, it should not be forgotten that the additional risks taken every day by law enforcement personnel, first responders, emergency personnel and fire safety personnel and surrounding areas quickly contained the scene and assured the safety of residents.

Please join me in sponsoring this memo.
