Subject: | Convenience Store Permit Legislation |
In the near future, we will be introducing legislation to amend the Liquor Code. The legislation will establish a Convenience Store Permit, to allow for the sale of malt or brewed beverages in quantities of not more than 192 fluid ounces for consumption off the premises of the convenience store. Convenience store permits are limited to one permit for every five thousand inhabitants of the county, with a minimum number of three permits available per county. The sale of malt or brewed beverages at the convenience stores must be made through a designated register, and a transaction scan device must be used to verify the age of the purchaser. This legislation will provide greater convenience for our constituents in regards to purchasing malt and brewed beverages, while providing our Commonwealth with needed revenue. Thank you in advance for your consideration in cosponsoring the legislation. |
