Subject: Resolution to Establish a Task Force access to treatment through Health Plans
 
In the near future, I will introducing a resolution Directing the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs to establish and administer a task force on access to addiction treatment through health plans and other resources.

More than 2,500 Pennsylvanians lost their lives to drug overdoses in 2013, and with higher numbers expected in subsequent years. Drug-related deaths outnumber traffic fatalities in 16 states, including this Commonwealth.

The abuse of opioids is a serious problem that affects the health, social and economic welfare of the Commonwealth. Please join me in cosponsoring this extremely important resolution.
