Subject: | Resolution - National Apprenticeship Week |
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution designating the week of November 2-8 as “National Apprenticeship Week” in Pennsylvania. National Apprenticeship Week, celebrating its inaugural week in 2015, will be a nationwide campaign to promote the importance of apprenticeship programs in the education, development, training, and employability of thousands of Americans, in fields such as carpentry, engineering, and manufacturing. The Commonwealth continues to be at the forefront in many aspects of apprenticeship programs. In 2014 alone, Pennsylvania ranked amongst the top-ten in the country in: number of registered apprentices (10, 821), number of active programs (744), number of apprentices who completed their training (1,880), and the number of registered new apprentices (3,708) and new apprenticeship programs (44). Please join me in recognizing these accomplishments of our apprentices by cosponsoring this resolution. |
