| Subject: | School District Contribution Fund |
| In the near future I will be introducing a companion bill to my “School District Contribution Fund” tax checkoff legislation. This legislation will create the restricted revenue fund within the State Treasury to receive voluntary donations made on an individual’s income tax return. Currently, Pennsylvanians can donate to the following organizations when filing their personal income tax returns: Pa Breast Cancer Coalition’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Fund, Wild Resource Conservation Fund, Military Family Relief Assistance program, Governor Robert P. Casey Memorial Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Trust Fund, Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes Cure Research Fund, PA Children’s Trust Fund and the American Red Cross. My proposal will expand this list of donation recipients to include the “School District Contribution Fund” and provide a vehicle for taxpayers who want to do more to financially support a troubled school district, or any school district of their choice. I hope you will consider joining me in sponsoring this important legislation. |
