Subject: | (Technical Corrective Re-Draft) Expanding the Property Tax Rent Rebate Program for Renters |
This is a technical corrective re-draft of House Bill 691. In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that would amend the Taxpayer Relief Act of 2006 by increasing the maximum income limit for Property Tax Rent Rebates for renters from $15,000 to $20,000. Many low-income Pennsylvanians are unable to benefit from the program due to the prohibitively low income threshold they must meet in order to qualify as a claimant. This minor change will provide much needed financial assistance to some of the most vulnerable citizens of our Commonwealth. Please join me in supporting this legislation. PREVIOUS SPONSORS: V.
