MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 4, 2015 03:35 PM
From: Representative Mike Reese
To: All House members
Subject: James Paul Takitch Memorial Highway

In the near future I plan to introduce legislation designating a portion of State Route 981 in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmorland County, as the James Paul Takitch Memorial Highway.

Seaman 2nd Class James Paul Takitch was born in Southwest, Pennsylvania and joined the United States Navy in September of 1944. On April 11, 1945, during the Battle of Okinawa, James was wounded by enemy fire. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal , the American Campaign Medal, and Victory Medal of World War II for is courageous service during World War II.

Please join me in cosponsoring this important piece of legislation.

Introduced as HB1347
