Subject: The Family Caregiver Support Advisory Board Act (Prior HB 654)
 
In the near future, I plan to reintroduce legislation that directs the Department of Human Services to establish a Family Caregiver Support Advisory Board.

Across the Commonwealth, families are choosing to care for their loved one with a disability so the individual can remain in their home and community. Providing care to a family member offers great rewards and many challenges to the caregivers. The Family Caregiver Advisory Support Board will work closely with the Department to address the needs of caregivers and to assure appropriate services are available.
