MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 18, 2014 08:59 AM
From: Representative Dom Costa
To: All House members
Subject: Legislation Increasing the Maximum Fine for Littering and Requiring Increased Signage

In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that would amend Title 75 (Vehicles) to increase the amount of signage, as well as the fine for littering on Pennsylvania roads.

Specifically, my legislation would increase the maximum of each fine detailed in Section 3709 by $200. Moreover, at least five percent of the money allocated to the Department of Transportation for these fines must be used for signage along Pennsylvania roadways which will detail the littering fines.

The motto of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful must not be forgotten. It is my hope that these increased fines and public awareness will help us achieve that goal. Please join me in supporting this legislation.

Introduced as HB102
