Subject: | Designation of a Portion of SR 61, from SR 443 to SR 2014, as the Capt. Jason B. Jones Memorial Highway |
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation designating a portion of State Route 61, from SR 443 to SR 2014, in Schuylkill County, as the Capt. Jason B. Jones Memorial Highway. Capt. Jones, 29 years old, was a native of Orwigsburg who graduated from Blue Mountain High School in 2003. He then attended the U.S. Military Academy where he graduated 6th in his class with a degree in nuclear engineering in 2007. Capt. Jones was awarded the Bronze Star for his deployment in Iraq from 2008 to 2009. In May of 2013 he joined the Green Berets, and was deployed to Afghanistan in April 2014. Capt. Jason B. Jones was killed June 2, 2014 of wounds from small-arms fire in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. Please join me in this tribute to Capt. Jason B. Jones |
