Subject: | Ataxia Awareness Day in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I will introduce a House Resolution recognizing Thursday, September 25, 2014 as "Ataxia Awareness Day" in Pennsylvania. Ataxia is a degenerative neurological disorder that causes slow, progressive deterioration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and cerebellum. This has an effect on a individual's balance, coordination and speech. There are an estimated 150,000 individuals throughout the nation affected by this disorder. I am hoping that by introducing this resolution, it will raise more awareness across the state about this devastation, and often fatal, neurological disorder. Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution. Thank you for your support. |
