Subject: Funding the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center
 
I will be introducing a resolution urging the United States Congress and the President of the United States to continue funding the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center. The Center is congressionally funded through the Department of Defense and is managed by the Pennsylvania National Guard Counterdrug Program.

The Northeast Counterdrug Training Center at Fort Indiantown Gap was established in October 1998. The Center provides no-cost counter-drug training and education to law enforcement from Maine to Virginia and west to Wisconsin. It is staffed by National Guard Specialists and state employees for the purpose of reducing and removing illegal drugs from our streets and to educate our communities with the most up-to-date prevention techniques.
