Subject: | Resolution Commemorating the 175th Anniversary of Pottstown School District |
In the near future, I am planning to introduce a resolution that will commemorate the 175th anniversary of Pottstown School District. The Pottstown Community was founded in 1752 by John Potts and is located along the Schuylkill River in Western Montgomery County. Its estimated population is 21,000, and the Pottstown School District serves Pottstown’s student population of 3,200 with quality learning opportunities. The Pottstown School District is not only one of the oldest school districts in the state of Pennsylvania, but one of the oldest school districts in the country. Alumni of the Pottstown School District have distinguished themselves in all fields of endeavor, including business, science, industry, education, entertainment, sports, government, and military. The Foundation for Pottstown Education will celebrate the 175th Birthday of the Pottstown School District on May 16, 2014. Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution that formally honors the Pottstown School District for 175 years of service to its community. |
