Subject: Honoring President Rodney Erickson
 
In the near future, a resolution will be introduced to honor Rodney A. Erickson, President of the Pennsylvania State University, for his nearly four decades of service to the university and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

President Erickson joined the university as an assistant professor in 1977. He earned the rank of full professor in both geography and business administration in 1984. He has served a number of different roles including head of the Department of Geography, director of the Center for Regional Business Analysis, dean of the Graduate School, vice president for research, provost and executive vice president. On November 9, 2011, he was appointed Penn State's 17th president!

I hope that you will join me in honoring his years of service!
