Subject: PA 8-1-1 Safe Diggings Month
 
Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution to designate the month of April 2014 as “Pennsylvania 8-1-1 Safe Diggings Month.”

Pennsylvania One Call System provides easy, one-call notification by utilities and contractors about construction and excavation projects that may endanger workers and jeopardize utility lines. Notification promotes safety, reduces underground utility damages, minimizes utility service interruptions and protects the environment. Pennsylvania One Call System serves more than 100,000 excavators and 3,600 critical infrastructure owners in this Commonwealth.
