Subject: Co-Sponsorship of Legislation – Alvin E. Morrison Memorial Bridge
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to honor Alvin E. Morrison.

The bill will designate a bridge carrying State Route 74, over 31st Street in Altoona, Blair County, as the Alvin E. Morrison Memorial Bridge.

Alvin E. Morrison attended Greenwood School, Roosevelt Junior High School and Altoona High School.

S. Sgt. Morrison was a radio operator and ball turret gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress with the U.S. Air Force 560th squadron. For his service, he was awarded the Air Medal, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Service in World War II Lapel Button.
