Subject: PASSHE_Application Fee
 
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to provide all in-state, high school seniors a reduced application fee for higher education.

This act will be known as the “College 'Apportunity' Day” and will be offered to high school seniors on the third Thursday of every October. The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education will provide all high schools within the Commonwealth a discount code that will discount the application fee to only $5 for each application.

I believe it is imperative that we work together to promote opportunities for our students to ensure the greatest possible access to higher education at an affordable cost, while encouraging students to obtain their education within the Commonwealth.

Again, I would appreciate your consideration and support by joining me in co-sponsoring this legislation.
