| Subject: | Resolution recognizing the month of September 2013 as “Senior Center Month” in Pennsylvania. |
When we return to Session, I will be introducing a Resolution recognizing the month of September 2013 as “Senior Center Month” in Pennsylvania. My Resolution calls upon all citizens and public officials to recognize the special contributions of senior center participants, staff, and volunteers who work daily to enhance the quality of life of our older residents. As many of you know, the senior centers that operate in Pennsylvania are among nearly 11,000 nationally that serve 1 million older adults every day in offering a rich and engaging array to help older adults age successfully. These centers have acted as catalysts for mobilizing the creativity, energy, vitality, and commitment of our older residents and, as such, I am proud of the work that is being done within our great Commonwealth at these centers.
