Subject: Designating a portion of State Route 45 in Centre County as the "Sergeant Adam Hartswick Interchange"
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation designating a section of State Route 45, from the intersection of State Route 26 in Pine Grove Mills to the intersection of US Business Route 322 in Boalsburg, as the Sergeant Adam Hartswick Interchange.

Sgt. Hartswick, a resident of Pine Grove Mills, was serving as a combat medic in the Kandahar province when he lost his legs after stepping on an improvised explosive device after tending to a wounded soldier. He maintained his composure after the explosion, and was able to direct his platoon leader on how to administer aid that saved his own life.
