| Subject: | Co-sponsorship of Resolution - Hunger Action Month in Pennsylvania |
| When we return for session, I will be introducing a House Resolution recognizing September as “Hunger Action Month” in Pennsylvania. The purpose of this resolution is to encourage everyone to recognize the fact that hunger is a significant problem throughout Pennsylvania and our country. On Monday, September 30 at 5:30 P.M. at Metro Bank Park on City Island, Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) is partnering with Pennsylvania Legislative Services (PLS) for a very special event. “Capitol All Stars Softball” is the first annual softball game being held to raise funds and collect food items to benefit Feeding Pennsylvania and Hunger-Free Pennsylvania, two groups dedicated to addressing the food needs of people suffering from hunger in this Commonwealth. Legislators from both sides of the aisle will come together for a fun-filled, seven-inning softball game. As co-chairman of the Legislative Hunger Caucus, I encourage you to support the cause of fighting hunger in Pennsylvania by co-sponsoring this resolution. |
