Subject: Real Estate Appraisers Certification Act
 

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation amending the Real Estate Appraisers Certification Act (Act 98 of 1990) to update the law in order to bring Pennsylvania into compliance with mandatory federal standards.

The legislation will require continuing education for licensed appraiser trainees, require appraiser applications to include criminal history background checks and allow reciprocity for licensed appraiser trainees from other states. The State Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers developed this language and supports the legislation.


Introduced as HB1600
