MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 28, 2013 11:16 AM
From: Representative John D McGinnis
To: All House members
Subject: Omnibus Armory Conveyance

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would authorize the Department of General Services, with the approval of the Department of Military and Veterans’ Affairs and the Governor, to grant and convey, at a price to be determined through a competitive bid process, certain lands, buildings and improvements used as state armories throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The properties to be included in this omnibus conveyance include:
  • Altoona Armory in Logan Township, Blair County
  • Tyrone Armory in the Borough of Tyrone, Blair County
  • Bellefonte Armory in the Borough of Bellefonte, Centre County
  • Berwick Armory in the Borough of Berwick, Columbia County
  • Ridgway Armory in the Borough of Ridgway, Elk County
  • Ridgway Weekend Training Site in Ridgway Township, Elk County
  • Waynesboro Armory in the Borough of Waynesboro, Franklin County
  • Huntingdon Armory in the Borough of Huntingdon, Huntingdon County
  • Scranton (Watres) Armory in the City of Scranton, Lackawanna County
  • Lancaster Armory in the City of Lancaster, Lancaster County
  • Bradford Armory in the City of Bradford, McKean County
  • Sunbury Armory in Upper Augusta Township, Northumberland County
All proceeds from sales of the former armories shall be deposited in the State Treasury Armory Fund.
