MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 16, 2013 12:17 PM
From: Representative Thomas R. Caltagirone
To: All House members
Subject: Resolution for JSGC Study of Child Advocacy Centers

I will soon be introducing a Resolution directing the Joint State Government Commission to undertake a study on the expansion and funding of Child Advocacy Centers in Pennsylvania.

The Task Force on Child Protection report strongly endorses Child Advocacy Centers as effective multidisciplinary investigative and treatment tools, and has reported on favorable outcomes where they have been employed. The remaining task before us is to determine how best to expand their application and expansion in a cost-effective manner and how best to fund them in these difficult fiscal times. This task can best be done by employing the Joint State Government Commission's expertise.

This resolution is a highly time-sensitive one that I believe will see prompt action, so the window of opportunity to co-sponsor it will by necessity be a short one. Please click the link below to cosponsor.
