Subject: Resolution – Recovery of POW/MIA Remains

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution that beseeches the Department of Defense and the President of the United States to expedite the recovery of the remains of the crew of the C-47 Dakota aircraft that went down in Malaysia on November 27, 1945.

The co-pilot of the plane was 1st Lt. William H. Myers, who was from Elizabethtown, PA and was one of three crew members believed to have died in the wreckage.

The aircraft was initially discovered in July 1966, in the jungle near Perak, Malaysia and was found again in 1985 and 2009. Subsequently, the wreckage was reported to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command on October 13, 2009. The Joint Command is part of the Department of Defense.

Please join me in sponsoring this resolution to encourage the expeditious recovery of 1st Lt. William H. Myers, his fellow crew members as well as all of our fallen heroes of past conflicts.
