The Accounting Operations staff is responsible for pre-auditing all payments made from any appropriation made to the Senate. This includes all member expenses as well as accounts payable to vendors. This office also provides Senate account analysis and budget projections for the coming fiscal year.
The Personnel Division is responsible for managing all health benefits provided to employees of the Senate as well as Workers' Compensation, Group Life insurance and eligibility for retiree benefits. The Personnel Division also prepares and processes the payrolls for all employees of the Senate. In addition, they process claims for Unemployment Compensation.
The Facilities Manager is responsible for management of the physical space of the Senate offices. This includes HVAC, fire safety; furniture, fixtures & equipment; and custodial operations. The Facilities Manager also oversees the IT/Telecommunications Department.
The Senate Mail Room distributes incoming mail received from the CMPC and provides outgoing mailing services.
The Commonwealth Mail Processing Center receives and performs a security scan of all incoming mail, overnight packages, and parcels and delivers to offices of the Legislature, departments under the Governor's jurisdiction, and the Judiciary.
The Purchasing office is responsible for the acquisition of furniture, fixtures, equipment, supplies, and services for all Capitol and district offices throughout the State. The Purchasing office oversees Senate Receiving, the Store Room, and Inventory Management of the fixed assets.
The Senate creates a broadcast television feed of all Senate legislative sessions and selected committee meetings. These feeds are sent to the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) for distribution to cable networks throughout Pennsylvania. In addition, the feeds are provided to each Caucus for live streaming on their respective web site.
In addition, the Senate maintains a Video Facility which is used by each Caucus to create short programs used for communicating with the constituents of the Senators through their local cable networks.
