SOLOBAY, Timothy Joseph, a Representative from Washington County; born in Canonsburg, Washington County, Pa., March 20, 1956; graduated, Canon-McMillan High School, 1974; attended, Washington Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, 1976; B.S., radiologic technology, California University of Pennsylvania (now Pennsylvania Western University, California), 1984; B.S., business management, California Coastal University, 1990; attended, Pittsburgh MRI Institute, 1992; certificate, Emergency Medical Technician; CPR/AED instructor, American Heart Association; state constable (1982-1998); radiographer, Canonsburg Hospital; supervisor, CAT/MRI departments, Washington Hospital; Emergency Medical Technician; chief, Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department (member, 35 years); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Democrat in 1998; reelected to serve 5 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Authority (1999-2002); not a candidate for reelection to the House (2010); elected, Pennsylvania State Senate (2010-2014); appointed, Joint Conservation Committee (2011-2014); unsuccessful campaign for reelection to Senate (2014); gubernatorial appointee, head, Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner (2015-2017); president, Blue Dog Consulting, LLC.
