House Committee Roll Call Votes

Committee JUDICIARY Date April 4, 2017
Bill/Resolution SB261 PN0243 A00539 Type of Motion Adopt Amendment
Maker of Motion Rep. Petrarca Seconded by Rep. Delozier
Brief Description
This amendment makes several technical changes to the bill as well as a substantive change to provision of the bill extending the civil SOL. The amendment will remove the categories for a possible unlimited civil SOL and retain the extension of the civil SOL for all defendants until the victim reaches age 50. The amendment also renders inapplicable a notice requirement that might otherwise have required victims to notify the government party in writing of the intention to file suit within six months of suffering the abuse in order to preserve their right to later file their claims.
