SENATE RESOLUTION

No. 104 Session of 2003

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Congratulating Chris Lubanski for being the No. 5 pick in the
     2     baseball draft on June 3, 2003.

     3     WHEREAS, On June 3, 2003, Chris Lubanski became the No. 5
     4  baseball draft pick of 2003 when the Kansas City Royals selected
     5  the speedy outfielder and presented him with the enviable
     6  dilemma of signing its contract versus attending Florida State
     7  University on a baseball scholarship; and
     8     WHEREAS, Chris Lubanski has been selected from 450,000 high
     9  school baseball players nationwide and honored by Gatorade
    10  Thirst Quencher and Scholastic Coach and Athletic Director
    11  magazine as the 2003 Gatorade National High School Baseball
    12  Player of the Year; and
    13     WHEREAS, A graduating senior at Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High
    14  School, Chris Lubanski accumulated, in 72 at bats this year, a
    15  batting average of .528 with 6 home runs, 10 triples and 38 runs
    16  batted in, scored 36 runs and stole 20 bases; and in 105 high
    17  school career games, Chris had 158 hits, including 21 home runs,


     1  25 doubles and 20 triples; and
     2     WHEREAS, Chris Lubanski was recognized twice as the
     3  Philadelphia Catholic League Most Valuable Player; therefore be
     4  it
     5     RESOLVED, That the Senate congratulate Chris Lubanski upon
     6  his richly deserved recognition and offer best wishes for
     7  continued success in the future; and be it further
     8     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution, sponsored by
     9  Senator Constance H. Williams and Senator Robert Wonderling, be
    10  transmitted to Chris Lubanski, 225 Goshen Road, Schwenksville,
    11  PA 19473-2203.
