A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the week of May 7 through 13, 2017, as "National
Hospital Week" in Pennsylvania and urging members of the
Senate to visit hospitals in their communities to learn about
the innovative, quality care and services that are improving
the health and quality of life for residents of this
Commonwealth.
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania hospitals and health systems provide
health care services for acute inpatient care as well as
outpatient, emergency, behavioral health, rehabilitation, long-
term and home care services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; and
WHEREAS, Specialized hospital care is provided by
Pennsylvania's 40 trauma centers, 5 burn centers and 15 critical
access hospitals affording care for the most rural populations
in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is home to seven academic medical
centers and numerous teaching hospitals and medical schools that
train future health care providers and invest in critical health
research; and
