A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the month of October 2017 as "American Pharmacists
and Pharmacy Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Pharmacists and pharmacies are responsible for
substantial contributions to health care in all practice
settings in this Commonwealth and across the nation; and
WHEREAS, As of January 2017, this Commonwealth has 22,606
licensed pharmacists working toward improving medication use by
reducing abuse and advancing patient care in all practice
settings; and
WHEREAS, The American Pharmacists Association promotes the
pharmacist's role in health care and underscores that
pharmacists are an integral part of a patient's treatment; and
WHEREAS, "American Pharmacists and Pharmacy Month" is a time
to thank our pharmacists for the work they do and promote
medicinal education to the public, especially in a time when

health care and prescription drug abuse are major issues facing
this Commonwealth and the nation; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
month of October 2017 as "American Pharmacists and Pharmacy
Month" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage all
residents of this Commonwealth to observe "American Pharmacists
and Pharmacy Month" to recognize and thank pharmacists for their
contributions.
