A RESOLUTION
Designating June 10 through 17, 2017, as "Motorsports Week" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania has a long history of motorsports of
all types; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has benefited economically from
the longtime investments of a range of corporations that are
involved in the production, engineering and sponsorship of
motorsports vehicles used today; and
WHEREAS, This year marks the 43rd anniversary of the first
NASCAR 500 mile race which was held on August 4, 1974; and
WHEREAS, The Pocono Raceway, in conjunction with the
Department of Community and Economic Development and the City of
Harrisburg, has coordinated the NASCAR Hauler Parade to the
Capitol; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
