A RESOLUTION
Recognizing April 10 through 21, 2017, as "Eat for Peace Days"
in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, "Eat for Peace Days" was inspired by Philadelphia's
internationally renowned Anthony "Tony Luke" Lucidonio, Jr.,
after opening his restaurant in Bahrain; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives understands the need
for people from all walks of life to recognize and appreciate
cultural differences; and
WHEREAS, Respectful collaboration among all nationalities,
customs and backgrounds is key in creating and maintaining a
peaceful world; and
WHEREAS, All people need to recognize the differences between
themselves and others and engage in the understanding of
cultural differences; and
WHEREAS, Regardless of race or ethnicity, all individuals
strive for happiness; and
WHEREAS, Anthony Lucidonio, Jr., found that when people eat

together they share cultural experiences and deepen
understanding and peace; and
WHEREAS, "Eat for Peace Days" asks that all people share a
meal with individuals of various backgrounds and thereby strive
for peace by shedding stereotypes and prejudices; therefore be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize April
10 through 21, 2017, as "Eat for Peace Days" in Pennsylvania to
encourage all societies to recognize differences in cultures and
accept those differences to attain acceptance and peace around
the world; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage
individuals to dine with people of diverse customs in order to
bring peace among different races and religions and to celebrate
diversity through food.
