A RESOLUTION
Urging the residents of this Commonwealth to support the
efforts, programs, services and organizations that work to
enhance research and awareness of undifferentiated
pleomorphic sarcoma, a type of soft tissue sarcoma.
WHEREAS, There are approximately 50 different types of soft
tissue sarcomas; and
WHEREAS, Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops from
certain tissues like bone or muscle; and
WHEREAS, Soft tissue sarcomas can develop from soft tissues
like fat, muscle, nerves, fibrous tissues, blood vessels or deep
skin tissues; and
WHEREAS, Signs and symptoms of soft tissue sarcomas include
swelling or a lump that has grown over a period of time,
abdominal pain, blood in stool or vomit and black, tarry stools;
and
WHEREAS, Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, previously
known as malignant fibrous histiocytoma, is a type of soft
