A RESOLUTION
Designating March 15, 2017, as "Pennsylvania Transit Workers
Awareness Day."
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives is proud to recognize
the contributions of individuals who play an integral role in
the daily functioning of our Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Transit workers provide vital services to users of
mass transportation on a daily basis in cities and towns across
this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Transit workers are charged with various significant
responsibilities every day; and
WHEREAS, These responsibilities include focusing on
maintenance to ensure that this Commonwealth's public transit
system continuously operates safely and dependably; and
WHEREAS, Transit workers must pursue vigorous and continuous
training due to increasing technology changes that produce
safer, cleaner-running, more reliable and more comfortable

vehicles; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate March
15, 2017, as "Pennsylvania Transit Workers Awareness Day"; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association, 600 North
Third Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101-1113.
