A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of May 2015 as "Law Month" in Pennsylvania
and urging lawmakers, lawyers, judges and schools to
participate in related events.
WHEREAS, As part of "Law Month," the Pennsylvania Bar
Association is launching its annual "Law Day" program to
recognize our court systems and legal professionals on May 1,
2015; and
WHEREAS, "Law Day" is an occasion to publicly acknowledge
justice, liberty and equality under the law as applied in this
Commonwealth and beyond; and
WHEREAS, "Magna Carta: Symbol of Freedom Under Law" is the
theme for events this year; and
WHEREAS, The year 2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the
sealing of Magna Carta at Runnymede, England, in 1215; and
WHEREAS, In setting forth fundamental human rights, Magna
Carta enshrined such principles as due process, habeas corpus,
trial by jury and freedom of movement; and
