AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in certification of teachers and in
school health services, repealing provisions relating to CPR
instruction and to cardiopulmonary resuscitation; providing
for medical emergency instruction and procedures and for
required instruction for CPR and first aid.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1205.4 of the act of March 10, 1949
(P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, added
November 22, 2000 (P.L.672, No.91), is repealed:
[Section 1205.4. CPR Instruction.--(a) School entities
shall be required to offer a cardiopulmonary resuscitation
training (CPR) class on school premises at least once every
three years. The course shall be offered as an option to all
employes of the school entity.
(b) Completion of training, including testing of skills and
knowledge, shall be documented by the signature and title of a
