1Designating a bridge on that portion of S.R. 35 over the Juniata
2River in Juniata County as the Juniata County Veterans
3Memorial Bridge.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Juniata County Veterans Memorial Bridge.

7(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds as follows:

8(1) Juniata County wishes to honor the citizens of the
9county who have served or are currently serving our nation in
10the armed forces.

11(2) Juniata County residents served in every major
12United States military conflict going back to the Civil War.

13(3) More than 5,000 people from Juniata County have
14served in defense of the United States.

15(4) The bridge displays 12 flags, six representing the
16United States, five representing the five branches of the
17military and one flag remembering prisoners of war or
18soldiers who are missing in action.

19(b) Designation.--The bridge located on S.R. 35 in Juniata

1County over the Juniata River is hereby designated as the
2Juniata County Veterans Memorial Bridge.

3(c) Signs.---The Department of Transportation shall erect
4and maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge
5to traffic in both directions on the bridge.

6Section 2. Effective date.

7This act shall take effect in 60 days.
