AN ACT
1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, in registration of vehicles, further providing for
3special plates for individuals in the service of the United
4States Merchant Marine.
5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:
7Section 1. Section 1357.1 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
8Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9§ 1357.1. Special plates for individuals in the service of the
10United States Merchant Marine.
11Upon application of any person who was in the service of the
12United States Merchant Marine during World War II, the Korean
13War<-, the Vietnam Conflict or any of the Gulf Wars, including
14Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation
15Desert Shield, accompanied by a fee of $20 which shall be in
16addition to the annual registration fee and by such
17documentation as the department shall require, the department
18shall issue to the person a special registration plate
1designating the vehicle so licensed as belonging to a person who
2was in the service of the United States Merchant Marine during
3World War II, the Korean War<-, the Vietnam Conflict or any of the
4Gulf Wars, including Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi
5Freedom and Operation Desert Shield. The special registration
6plate may be used only on a passenger car or truck with a
7registered gross weight of not more than 14,000 pounds.
8Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
