AN ACT
1Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2Statutes, in registration of vehicles, further providing for
3special plates for individuals in the service of the United
4States Merchant Marine.
5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:
7Section 1. Section 1357.1 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
8Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
9§ 1357.1. Special plates for individuals in the service of the
10United States Merchant Marine.
11Upon application of any person who was in the service of the
12United States Merchant Marine during World War II, the Korean
13War or any of the Gulf Wars, including Operation Desert Storm,
14Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Desert Shield, accompanied
15by a fee of $20 which shall be in addition to the annual
16registration fee and by such documentation as the department
17shall require, the department shall issue to the person a
18special registration plate designating the vehicle so licensed
1as belonging to a person who was in the service of the United
2States Merchant Marine during World War II, the Korean War or
3any of the Gulf Wars, including Operation Desert Storm,
4Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Desert Shield. The special
5registration plate may be used only on a passenger car or truck
6with a registered gross weight of not more than 14,000 pounds.
7Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
