1Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for possession of
3weapon on school property.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1.  The heading and subsection (b) of section 912 of
7Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended
8to read:

9§ 912.  Possession of weapon on school or public recreational
10property.

12(b)  Offense defined.--A person commits a [misdemeanor]
13felony of the [first] third degree if he possesses a weapon in
14the buildings of, on the grounds of, or in any conveyance
15providing transportation to or from any elementary or secondary
16publicly-funded educational institution, any elementary or
17secondary private school licensed by the Department of
18Education, any public recreation center, park or playground or

1any elementary or secondary parochial school.

3Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
