AN ACT

  

1

Designating the bridge carrying Burnside Avenue in West Norriton

2

Township in Montgomery County over Stony Creek as the "Albert

3

Earl Momme Bridge."

4

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Albert Earl Momme Bridge.

7

(a)  Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as

8

follows:

9

(1)  Albert Earl Momme, born November 1923, served during

10

World War II in the European Theatre Operation 394th Bomb

11

Group, 387th Bomb Squadron, served in England, France,

12

Holland and Germany and received the following military

13

decorations: United States Presidential Unit Citation;

14

European, African and Middle Eastern Campaign Medals; six

15

Bronze Stars and the Army Good Conduct Medal.

(2)  After World War II, Albert Earl Momme began a 49-

year career beginning as a lab technician and concluding as a

2

staff quality control engineer with the present day Premier

3

Refactories.

(3)  Albert Earl Momme married Rose Zummo in 1951, raised

5

four children and has eight grandchildren and 2 great-

6

grandchildren.

7

(4)  Albert Earl Momme has been an active community

8

volunteer, participant and leader in many community

9

organizations in and around West Norriton Township.

10

(b)  Designation.--The bridge carrying Burnside Avenue in

11

West Norritown Township in Montgomery County over Stony Creek is

12

hereby designated the "Albert Earl Momme Bridge."

13

(c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and

14

maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to

15

traffic in both directions.

Section 2.  Effective date.

17

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
