| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An |
2 | act relating to the public school system, including certain |
3 | provisions applicable as well to private and parochial |
4 | schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the |
5 | laws relating thereto," providing for teacher certifications | <-- |
6 | emergency permits at approved private schools and chartered | <-- |
7 | schools for the deaf and blind. |
8 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
9 | hereby enacts as follows: |
10 | Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known |
11 | as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a |
12 | section to read: |
13 | Section 1377.2. Teacher Certifications Emergency Permits at | <-- |
14 | Approved Private Schools and Chartered Schools for the Deaf and |
15 | Blind.--Approved private schools and chartered schools for the |
16 | deaf and blind shall have the authority to apply for teacher | <-- |
17 | certifications emergency permits through the Department of | <-- |
18 | Education pursuant to the criteria for eligibility established |
19 | under 22 Pa. Code § 49.31 (relating to criteria for eligibility) |

1 | as if the teachers were employed by a public school entity |
2 | provided that all other conditions for obtaining an emergency |
3 | permit are met. |
4 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
