WELLS, Dr. Jay Ralph, III, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., June 5, 1940; attended, Bethel Park public schools; B.S., University of Pittsburgh, 1962; D.D.S., University of Pittsburgh, 1965; served, Dental Corps, United States Air Force (1965-1967); dentist; member, Bethel Park Republican Committee (1961-1965, 1968-1971); member, Bethel Park Reapportionment Commission (1968-1971); elected, Judge of Elections, Allegheny County (1961-1965); elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 1970 and 1972; unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the House (1974); elected, delegate, Republican National Convention (2012).
