WALKO, Donald R., a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pa., February 24, 1953; B.S., accounting, The Pennsylvania State University, 1975; J.D., Dickinson School of Law (now Penn State Dickinson Law), 1978; attorney; writer, Northside Chronicle; chair, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority; secretary and treasurer, Allegheny County Democratic Delegation; chair, 26th Ward Democratic Committee; president, Perry Hilltop Citizens Council; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1994; reelected to 7 consecutive terms thereafter; appointed, Select Committee for Open-Heart Surgery (1996); appointed, Speaker's Commission on Legislative Reform (2007); resigned from the House, January 3, 2010; elected, judge, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, Allegheny County (2010-2020).
