CHRISTY, Butler Case, a Representative from Allegheny County; born in Murrysville, Westmoreland County, Pa., September 15, 1842; attended, Mount Union College; private, Company C, 123rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry (1862-1863, Civil War); teacher; lawyer (1865-1906), elected, recorder of deeds, Allegheny County (9 years); elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1874, 1875, and 1876 terms; appointed, Speaker Pro-Temp (1875); not a candidate for reelection to the House for the 1877 term; died, September 8, 1906 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Sewickley Cemetery, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
