SRODES, Dr. James Lewis, a Representative from Allegheny County; born, March 20, 1862 in Carnot, Allegheny County, Pa.; attended, Kentucky University; graduated, Western Pennsylvania University (now University of Pittsburgh), 1887; commissioned, surgeon, Battery B, Pennsylvania National Guard (1895-1897, 1899); major and surgeon, 14th Regiment, Pennsylvania National Guard (1897-1898, Spanish-American War); physician; consulting physician, Allegheny County Hospital; elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1898; not a candidate for reelection to the House (1900); superintendent, Allegheny County Home and Hospital for the Insane (1902-1913); died, September 26, 1913 in Collier Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; interred, Chartiers Cemetery, Carnegie, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
