Doctor Alexander Patton, born, 1819, Washington County, Pennsylvania; son of Joseph and Esther Patton; common school education; medicine, Jefferson College (now Washington and Jefferson University); physician, Waynesburg then Clarksville, Greene County, Pennsylvania; married, Anna Burson Patton, 1845, children, Abraham B. Patton, Esther Haddassah Patton Rogers; elected, Democrat, Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, 1863-1864, not a candidate for reelection, 1865 term; elected, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1883-1884; died, December 5, 1884 (aged 64–65), Jefferson, Greene County, Pennsylvania; interment, Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
