Early Life:

William Henry Manbeck, born February 15, 1863, Walker Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania; son of Solomon and Susan Aurand Manbeck; public school education; engaged farming, grain, coal, lumber; married, Clara E. Bashore; children, Max N. Manbeck; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1905-1912; died, March 19, 1938 (age 75), Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania; internment, Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. 

Early Career:

Assisted with work on his father’s farm until 1883; business partnership, grain, coal, and lumber business with James M. Nelson, Thompsontown, Pennsylvania, 1883-1888; moved business to Mifflintown, Pennsylvania where a flouring mill was added, 1892.
