Doctor William Mershon Lynch, born 1876, Leona, Bradford County, Pennsylvania; son of James D. and Louise Marie Mershon Lynch; Athens High School, Athens, Pennsylvania, 1894; medical department, Medico Chirurgical College, Philadelphia, 1901; appointed, resident physician, Hillside Hospital for the Insane, 1901-1906; elected, coroner of Lackawanna County, 1911- resigned, December 1914; elected, Republican, Pennsylvania State Senate, 1915-1918; married, Jesse Meade Lynch, two daughters; Superintendent, Fairview Hospital for the Criminal Insane; died, March 29, 1931 (aged 54–55), interment, Clarks Green Cemetery, Clarks Green, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.
